On this page you’ll find details of how to download and set up the SpeechWizard conversational application development framework, as well as links to useful materials and getting-started tutorials. In short, everything you need to start building modern, conversational self-service applications for IVR, SMS, chat and intelligent virtual assistants.

HOW TO INSTALL SPEECHWIZARD

Follow the instructions to download and set up the SpeechWizard application development framework.

Step 1

Download JAR file

Download the SpeechWizard JAR file (speechwizard-all.jar) from the link below.

Step 2

Install JAR file in your Maven repository

The recommended way to start using SpeechWizard is with the Maven dependency management system. You can download and find out more about Maven at http://maven.apache.org/index.html.

Install the speechwizard-all.jar file into your local Maven repository by executing the following command from your Maven installation directory (inserting the path to the downloaded file):

mvn install:install-file -Dfile=<path to speechwizard-all.jar>

Finally add a reference to the Maven POM of your application – you can just copy and paste the following snippet:

Step 3

Download the SpeechWizard Template and import to your IDE.

Getting started with SpeechWizard has never been easier than through the VoxGen Portal. Simply download to SpeechWizard Project Template from the below link. Once the download has completed, open your IDE and follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to File > Import > General > Project from Folder or Archive
  2. Select Archive and browse to the SpeechWizard Project Template you downloaded above.
  3. Click Finish to import the project.

Step 4

Build and deploy your first WAR file.

You’re almost ready to start using SpeechWizard!

  1. Right-click the project name and select Maven > Update Project to sync your IDE settings with the project’s pom.xml.
  2. Right-click the project name and select Run As > Maven Install to build the project into a .war file for deployment to the Development Cloud.
  3. To deploy your application simply go to https://portal.voxgen.com/dev-cloud/cloud-service-dev/ and drag your compiled application into Upload Tool box.

Step 4

Build and deploy your first WAR file.

You’re almost ready to start using SpeechWizard!

  1. Right-click the project name and select Maven > Update Project to sync your IDE settings with the project’s pom.xml.
  2. Right-click the project name and select Run As > Maven Install to build the project into a .war file for deployment.
  3. The SpeechWizard template supports deployment to any servlet-3 web container (e.g. Tomcat or Jetty). Refer to the documentation for your chosen web container for more information on deploying your .war file.

Call your application and get started!

Done! Once your .war has uploaded to the development cloud, call the number provided on the Development Cloud tab to speak to your IVR application, and hear “Hello World”.
